and once you realize how many metoers are embedded in the cliff walls you are going to want to climb as much as you can, they are the only ones other players haven't beaten you to most times. I mainly lived in the north but you gotta go south for brimstone. for some reason people seem to have a fascination with building in the passes. I would just throw on the boots and gloves and climb over the great wall and have stam left over rather than trying to find a way thru the wall. my most used armor was epic flawless light even in the south and I kept climbing boots and glove on me. down south many people if they take off their armor will also take off their encumberence bonus and if they are carrying loot back home they are gonna have to throw their loot away to climb.
and those sabertooths in the north attack in packs, you are going to have to climb and heal more than once. and if you cant climb you cant wall grab either, it'll save you from trying to run back in time to get the stuff off your dead body. if you take off your cold weather armor you cant climb at all due to frost damage. any damage will knock you off while you are climbing.
